Here at the Isfahan University of Technology, we cherish the social environment of the campus. IUT is a society that is involved around every student. Numerous societies and clubs are available for students to participate and communicate with their peers. Whether the goal is to transfer knowledge or to find new friends, the vibrant environment of the students’ organizations provides ample opportunities for every taste and interest to get involved.

Each department has its own scientific association that recruits its members through student elections. Scientific associations are there to make sure students don’t fall into a serious atmosphere. Holding many visits to the related industries is a task these associations carry out, which adds the aspect of active learning to the theories learned in the classes and gives students the opportunity to behold how these theories are put into practice and run a whole industry. Each association is responsible for a lot of training courses annually covering a vast extent of topics ranging from Photoshop to subject-related and professional software and skills of each major. Some associations publish their own scientific magazines in which all the students are welcomed to contribute. Intra-department celebrations are also another task of scientific associations.

In addition to scientific associations which make education entertaining, there are several other clubs with various themes distinct from academia. Students can participate voluntarily in such clubs, which are associated with art, philosophy, etc. These clubs are an excellent place to socialize with peers with whom students can share interests non-academically. Here at IUT exists a multitude of such clubs. In the following, a notable number of them is introduced.

Music Club is a fantastic club for those interested in music and playing instruments. This club holds weekly meetings where all volunteers are welcomed to play an instrument or sing while others can attend to enjoy the cheerful atmosphere. The music club occasionally holds more significant sessions wherein the faculty and staff are invited as well. Additionally, the club members conduct meetings to discuss the methods to improve the musical environment of the campus.

Theater Club, as the name implies, is a club for theater fans! The members practice writing plays, choosing or designing costumes, and performing. This club holds occasional stages to perform their written plays or the nationally or globally infamous plays.

Photo and Movie club chooses two movies to screen every week, one public and one semi-privately, the latter with critics assessing the movie upon its completion. This club also holds “Photo Cafés” sporadically, depicting photos concerning a particular theme that are worth to be watched and discussed. Training courses regarding photography like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and photography competitions among students are other usual activities of this club.

Literature club is accountable for literature-based gatherings in the university like “Short Story Café” and “Poem Cabin,” where students get to read their pieces of art aloud and find out their weaknesses and strengths. Some masterpieces of the world are also read in these gatherings to give students the opportunity to discuss them. This club invites famous writers and poets of the nation occasionally to provide the students with chances to learn from their experiences. Nasim Competition, where students send their works and get rewarded in the competition, and celebrations like “Yalda (the longest night of the year) Celebration” and “A Night with Poetry” are state-of-the-art activities of this great club.

Ava club does all the media-related activities, audio and movie editing, audio theaters, and dubbing. When needed, this club invites broadcasters and writers from students to produce content concerning certain subjects. Writings are then used for producing podcasts. Podcast production is the unique strength of this club. This club also trains performers that other clubs and organizations can benefit from in their sessions and ceremonies.

Arya is one of the most loved clubs by the students. This club pumps a lot of happiness into the university by taking students to different tours in order to make them familiar with Iran’s natural wonders. These tours are exceptional, and the prices they charge is much lower than other agencies. Arya is also responsible for the most significant ceremonies in the university.

Helal Ahmar (Red Crescent) is also one of the favorites! This club attracts those who care about the health of not just the students, but all the nation. This club raises funds whenever there is a natural disaster anywhere in Iran and sends supplies that people in those areas need. Charity Bazaars are also other events held by this club where students buy handicrafts and help this club raise funds for the people in need. This club also organizes first aid training to develop students’ skills and teach them how to act in severe situations.

Helpers to mental health is a club that holds “psychologic cafés” to promote mental health. It also plays psychology-involving movies to discuss their social and psychological aspects.

Living at IUT is a lot more than studying. Active learning is a part of all students’ lives, and they play specific roles for which they long. IUT is more alive than ever, helping students experience a top-level education and living their lives to the fullest!
